Yesterday I had a chance to visit with an old friend Billy Marples. We have worked on several projects together in the past. He gave me the grand tour of the “Genesis Art Studio” in Kimballton Iowa.
Billy really did a great job with the gallery space and lighting. The floor space offers the room needed for sculptures and the wall space has ceiling attachments for suspending framed images. Behind the counter there is a full photography studio complete with backdrops and lighting supports mounted on ceiling rails. The downstairs studio is set up for painting and framing. Billy openly invited me to use the studio space and help run the gallery. So I will be spending all my Saturdays at the New Genesis Art Studio starting March 13th. Billy and I will start laying out the plans to paint a community mural in the town of Elk Horn IA and I will be posting all of the progress we make here on my blog. The resources available in the NG studio will definitely be a valuable asset for future projects that we didn’t have access to before the opening of the studio. I am pretty excited to get the projects rolling.
