Carnal Murals and Custom Airbrush Paint

It’s pretty hard for me to convey a finished image in my customer’s mind. It’s easy for me to see any image painted on any surface, but it seems a little confusing to customers when describing, in words, the scope of a mural project. That’s why I started including sketches to choose from when working from concept, it is also possible to use Photoshop and put an image  strait onto a photo of any car, bike, truck, or trike. I will however charge $100 retainer fee to get the show on the road, after we decide on a design there will by some preliminary paperwork to process, essentially “an Artist Agreement” and then we will schedule a time to get the work done. Obviously some objects are easer to ship, musical instruments, helmets, motorcycle tanks, fairings, jackets, flags, and banners, other less mobile objects will have to have other arrangements made. Autos, trucks, boats, and RV’s that can be brought to the Council Bluffs Iowa area are defiantly fair game. So click through some of the pics and enjoy!

Motor cycles are easier to commission because in most cases they can be mailed from remote locations painted then mailed back. Start to finish, if you have a bike with a banged up paint job, you will get new seal, primer, base coat, mural, then clear that will make jaws drop every time you take a ride. Limitations to having murals painted over your bike’s existing paint job are strictly chemical. I use an inter-coat clear that can’t be sprayed over a catalyzed clear-coat. Here I painted some instruments with automotive paint, the results were great. The process is the same as for auto and motorcycles, first sealed, then primed, basecoat, mural, then clear coated. Because the instrument is primed then sanded in the process all the little dings are sanded out and the instrument surface is as smooth as new. Any image or design is possible, crazier the better if you ask me. Your instrument will become a one of a kind, work of art.

Helmets are painted with the same automotive urethanes as motorcycles, cars, and trucks. If you are going to have your bike tricked out with a custom paint job then you should think about a matching helmet to set off a complete theme. If you race, or sponsor a car, think about paint and not stickers to advertise your agenda. These are just examples of some of the paint jobs. Helmets can be worn or put up for display, any image, design, or effect is possible.

There are dozens of paintings that I have airbrushed over the years on t-shirts and jackets, but the photos have been lost. Airbrushing can be on any color of denim, cotton, leather, stretched canvass or even the hood of your car. Wedding aisle runners are a great space to incorporate art work into a wedding ceremony. The work can be any theme, design, or message. Another great thing about a painted wedding aisle runners is that after the ceremony the runner can be cut into sections a given as keepsake gifts that remain painted works of art.

Through the history of art some of the most celebrated works were the ceilings and walls painted from antiquity through the age of reason. Contemporarily, walls, ceilings, and sidewalks are painted using the science of tromp l’oeil. Tromp l’oeil is French for “trick of the eye”. Using the inverse square property of light, and applying that mathematical equation to a mural, can make wall murals so lifelike that it becomes more of an illusion than a painting, but only from one perspective. Although I would love to seek more of this type of commission, the more agreeable wall mural can be appreciated from any perspective.
